Are You Ready to Rise The Magic of December

December is the darkest month, and that is exactly why it holds so much light. Here is a gentle way to look back at your year, honor how far you have come, and step into the new one grounded and clear.

December invites you to notice how faithfully light returns after every dark season.

Dear friends,

There is a reason so many traditions light candles in December. Hanukkah, Diwali, the winter solstice, they all say the same quiet thing, even in the deepest darkness, light returns. It always has. In the deepest darkness, we discover our truest light. I have watched this happen in people for more than thirty years, and it still moves me every time.

Why the dark season is sacred

We tend to rush through December, from one obligation to the next, and miss what the month is actually offering. The dark is not something to escape. It is an invitation to slow down and go inward. Nature knows this. The trees are bare, the days are short, and everything beneath the surface is quietly preparing for spring. You are allowed to do the same. You are allowed to rest, to reflect, and to gather yourself before the new year asks anything of you.

A gentle year review

Before you leap into resolutions, pause and honor the year you just lived. This simple practice takes about twenty minutes and it changes how you enter January. Find a quiet moment and ask yourself three questions. What did this year teach me. What am I proud of, even the small things. And what am I ready to leave behind before the year turns. Write your answers down. Do not edit them. Let yourself see the whole arc of your year, the hard parts and the beautiful parts, and notice how much you carried. That noticing is its own kind of gratitude, the same practice we leaned into all through November.

A simple written reflection can turn a rushed year into a season of meaning.

Rising, in your own time

The theme this month is rising, and it matters to be honest about what that means. Rising is not forcing yourself to feel merry when you do not. It is not pretending the year was easy if it was not. Rising is choosing, gently, to keep going. To let your light return at its own pace. Grief and joy often sit at the same table in December, especially if you are missing someone. Both are welcome. Sometimes the most healing thing is simply to light a candle for the person you love and let yourself feel it all.

This is the heart of everything I do. A reading, a healing, a coaching session, they are all different doorways to the same place, helping you come home to yourself and trust your own light again. December is a beautiful season to walk through one of those doorways. It carries the same energy of abundance and gratitude that threads through the whole year, the same current we explored in the Magic of August.

A season of reflection and readings

Many people feel called to close the year with a session, a chance to look back with clarity and set an intention for what is coming. If that speaks to you, I would be honored to sit with you. Together we can review the themes of your year, listen for guidance, and welcome the light that is already returning in your life, even if it feels very quiet right now.

You can explore everything I offer on the services page, including a Year Overview session that looks at the energetic landscape of the coming twelve months and how you can meet it with confidence and peace. Sessions are available in Virginia Beach and online, so you can choose what feels most supportive. This kind of reflective, body mind spirit work lives in a long tradition, the same one that has been nurtured for decades at Edgar Cayce's A.R.E., where seekers gather to study intuition, healing, and the soul’s journey in a grounded and practical way.

💡 Gentle invitation. If you feel ready to welcome the new year with more clarity and ease, you are warmly invited to book a Year Overview session and give yourself the gift of focused time for your own light.

However you spend it, may this December bring you rest, light, and the quiet knowing that you are exactly where you need to be. May you feel supported in your reflections, held in your grief, and encouraged in every small way you choose to rise. Your light matters, and it is welcome here.

With love,
Nancy
